When you use sBeer we process the data you give us directly: your email address (for sign-in), handle and display name, birthdate (for the 18+ age gate), and the sessions, beers, friends, and crews you create. If you grant location permission we use a coarse fix to suggest nearby venues — we do not record your location trail.
sBeer is friends-only by default. Every session is visible only to the owner, accepted friends (privacy=friends), crew members (privacy=crew), or nobody (privacy=private). Row-level security on the database enforces this server-side — your client never receives data it shouldn’t. Venue information you add is shared with friends who can already see your session.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share with third-party advertisers.
- We do not use facial recognition or biometric data.
- We do not post on your behalf to external networks.
- We do not encourage you to drink more. Reminders are about remembering to log, never about drinking more.
The web companion at sbeer.site uses no cookies and no third-party trackers. The mobile app uses Sentry for crash reporting and PostHog for anonymous product analytics; both are configured to strip personally-identifiable information before upload. You can opt out of analytics in app settings.
You can export your full data as JSON from the mobile app (Settings › Your data › Export). You can delete your account — all sessions, beers, friendships, and profile data are hard-deleted after a 30-day grace period. Contact us for GDPR / CH FADP access, rectification, or erasure requests.
Your data is stored as long as your account exists. Deleted accounts are soft-deleted for 30 days (to allow recovery) and then hard-deleted. Backup copies may persist for up to 30 further days.
sBeer is intended for adults of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. The app enforces an 18+ gate at signup.
